January Favorites

Book Favorite: Beauty by Robin McKinley

My mom and I found this book a few years ago and we both LOVE it! I have always loved fairy tale retellings. And this is definitely one of the best I've read. She also did another Beauty & The Beast retelling that I have and will be reading soon!

Fashion Favorite: Jean Jacket

I got this a little over a week ago and I'm obsessed with it! There are very few 90s trends that I like, but I LOVE jean jackets!!! and I've been wanting one ever since they became a "thing" again.

Fashion Favorite: Button Pins

and I also love button pins! I have several, but I'm not sure how to wear them yet. I would put them on my jacket, but I don't really want holes in the one that I currently have. Maybe I'll score one at a thrift store soon and use it for my pins..........

Candle Favorite: Mulled Cider

If you know me, you know that I LOVE candles and almost always have one burning. I have a TON, but I have about 6 that I regularly cycle through and I pull out a random, new, different one from time to time. The one that I've been burning the most in my current cycle set is the Mulled Cider on that I got from my sister. Ahhhhhhhh. I love it so much! Cinnamon, apples, that "warm and cozy" smell. Makes my apartment smell really "homey"

Music Favorite: "Vintage" music

I listen to so much music, it's hard to pick just one favorite! But I have been really loving my "vintage" music this month. Doris Day, Howard Keel, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke.........the list just keeps going on and on and on. And the one song this past month that I could never, ever skip over, no matter how many times I had already heard it, was "Black Hills Of Dakota" from Calamity Jane.

Random Favorites: My Ukulele

Used to be my brothers, but then he decided that he didn't want it anymore, so I got it. FOR FREE!!! Woo!!!! Anywho, Don't remember if I brought it home after Thanksgiving or Christmas (I think it was Thanksgiving), but it wasn't until January that I finally sat done and really started learning. and so far, I'm LOVING it! It's such a fun instrument!

Random Favorites: My Water Bottle

I had nice camel back water bottle a year+ ago, but it broke and I have yet to get a replacement. But I week or two ago while I was in Walmart, I came across these darling water bottles and just had to get one! Only $5!!!! and it's been holding up pretty well!

Random Favorites: This Guitar!

I love going to Guitar Center! On one of my trips at the beginning of the month I found this beauty! It's a vintage, 1960s 12-string Fender! I was in love!!!

Random Favorites: SNOW

I don't really like winter much at all, but I honestly did love this snow fall that we had! It will probably be the only "good" that we get this winter.

Random Favorites: Mason Jars

I've always loved Mason jars, but only recently have I had a big enough stash of them to really start using them around my apartment. I have jars in my cupboards, on my kitchen counters, in my bathroom, in my bedroom, in my living room, EVERYWHERE and I love it!

Favorite Moments: OneThing

This was my first year going to the OneThing conference! I LOVED IT!! It was an amazing experience! Can't wait for next year!

Favorite Moments: Ears Pierced

I finally got my ears pierced!!! I was in the mall with my best friend, browsing though Claire's and just as we're about to leave she stops, looks at me, looks at the ear piercing "station", looks back at me and goes "how do you feel about getting your ears pierced today?" 10-15 minutes later we walking out and I've got two new holes in my head! I could be more happy about it!

Favorite Moments: Hiking

Got to go hiking with two of my favorite people! There's hiking trails just a couple minutes from my place that I've been curious about and have been wanting to check out but never have. Until a couple weekends ago that is, when the three of us decided to go hiking! We were out there for a good 2 hours and we even found an old cement/rock foundation! I need to find a hiking buddy now and go on those trails regularly!

Favorite Moments: Winter Jam

6th year in a row!!!! I wasn't sure if I was going to get to go this year or not, but the week before I messaged Holly and asked and we made plans! and I also got to do something that I've wanted to do for the past couple/few years; get to the venue early and hang outside! We were outside waiting for about three and a half hours. We got there just before 2:00 and the doors opened at 5:30. I has a blast. and the show was epic as always (that's a shot of Colton Dixon)

Favorite Moments: Winter Jam - Meeting OBB

and I got to meet OBB!!! This was my first time meeting an artist at Winter Jam. It's usually so crazy after the show that we just leave, or we actually leave early. But we stayed though to the end and actually made it to most of the merch tables and got to meet one of the bands this year! OBB is one of those bands that I forget how much I love them. I'll go for a long time without listening to much or any of their music, and then I'll "rediscover" them and spend the next couple days listening to all of their music, watching their videos, fangirling, etc. That's what it was for me during Winter Jam. I'm going to do my best and not "forget" them again!

January was such a great month! Can't wait to see what all February has in store for me! (we're already a week in! HOW?!?)
