In Review: August

We're already one week into September....HOW?! This year really has flown by (and, yes, I will probably say that in each of these that I make for the rest of the year.)

I'm taking a break from working on pricing jewelry and keychains to finally write this and get it posted

Listening To: I'me almost caught up with the SHE podcast. As soon as I am I'm going to need a new podcast to binge. I will take any and all suggestions!

Drinking: I'm hooked on Bubly! My favorite is peach. And I have rediscovered my love for lattes; both hot and iced.

Reading: ........................................

Current Jams: Anything by Familiar, Frank Sinatra (The Coffee Song is one of my new favorites), and Doris Day

Watching: I watched several Judy Garland and Doris Day movies. For Me And My Gal. Summer Stock. In The Good Old Summertime. Please Don't Eat The Daisies. And Romance on the High Seas.

Moments: My Trip to KC at the end of the month. Didn't go quite as planned, but turned out pretty fantastic!

Katie's 21st Birthday. SO. MUCH. FUN.

Ben and Kristina's going away party. **cries**

Favorite Photos:

Selfie. Cause why not?

It had been way too long since I had colored.

He takes better selfies than I do!

And now for a re-cap of my August Goals

Keep Working on Amelia Rose for PraiseFest
I have 2 weeks (13 days to be exact) and I'm honestly starting to panic some. I'm better today than I was a few days ago, but I'm getting pretty stressed. Things are coming together, some plans are changing, but we're going to make. And we're going to have a good time!

Do some serious apartment hunting
I may have found a place...........

Make a weekend trip to KC
I went August 31 - September 1st. It didn't go quite as planning, but it was still wonderful!

School Supplies for OCC
We're getting there. Haven't met my goal yet for anything yet, but we're a lost closer than we were a month ago.

Keep updating my wardrobe
Every little piece counts. I got a soft green shirt from Ross to wear as a nicer "around the house" shirt. And a new pair of jeans and sweater from Torrid. We're getting there.

Chill in a coffee shop once a week
I might have sat in a coffee shop once in August.......

Be more active
I didn't do much

Read "Own Your Everyday"

Overall, it was kind of a chill, routine, monotonous month. Hoepfully September will be a little more exciting.

In Review: July

I can't believe July is over. I want to start doing a “review” of each month. I’m going to work on developing a “bullet point” list and will use it for my August review, but this is what’s going to have to work for now.

My birthday was towards the end of the month, and I made a trip out to Kansas City. Drank good coffee, ate too much Italian, did a little too much shopping, hung out with friends, saw friends that I haven't seen in two years. It was a good, and much needed trip!

But, while out for dinner on my birthday, I got news that my uncle has passed away. There has been so much death this month. My uncle, a couple of family friends, an actor who was only 20. All of them too young. Such a slap in the face of just how short life here on Earth can be. It’s got me thinking, what am I really doing with life? Spending so much time focusing on what’s coming next and ignoring the here and now.

Anywho, this is supposed to be a review of July not a look into Tierra’s Deep Thoughts on Life. So, moving on.

This didn’t happen in July, it was the end of June actually, but close enough. A few months ago “applied” to be a vendor at PraiseFest, and I finally got the e-mail will all the information to get signed up! Now I just need to get everything together I Amelia Rose will be at it’s first event!

Oh! And I hit the one year mark of working at the day care! This is the first job that I’ve had for a full year, and I can’t believe that it’s been that long already. Other jobs were less than a year but felt like they lasted for two. I guess that means that I’ve finally found what I love doing.

Now, on to the monthly favorites

Listening To: I’ve really gotten into listening to podcasts the past couple of months. My favorites are
  • Wilmorons
  • Sierra Unfiltered
  • SHE Podcast
  • The Goal Digger Podcast
  • The Jamie Grace Show

Drinking: my favorite lately has been “Cocoa Brew” Cold brew coffee with chocolate milk.

Reading: I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t do much reading in July. But I’m changing that! While on my birthday trip I bought Jordan Dooley’s book “Own Your Everyday” so that is my next read. But that is going to be a sit down with a notebook read, not a casual right before bed read.

Current Anthems:
  • Daydream – Tori Kelly

  • I’m Letting Go – Franceca Battistelli

  • Dear No One – Tori Kelly (this is my favorite cover by Spencer Kane an Brooke)

Watching:
  • I went to see Aladdin on my birthday and loved it!
  • Jess and Gabriel on Youtube
  • Sebastian Gomez on Youtube
  • (there are others that I watch but those are my favorites right now)

Quotes: All from Morgan Harper Nicoles
  • "You are not missing out on life. Your life just looks a little different right now, but you are still on the journey."
  • "May this be the season where you create things that reflect what your heart has been longing to say."
  •  "Day by day she is learning to appreciate the journey of who she is becoming."

Favorite Photos from the month:
